The HEARTh Membership & Financial Agreement

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of The HEARTh.

We look forward to getting to know you better. But first – we ask that you first read the below explaining The HEARTh format and logistics.

We do not consider The HEARTh  a program.  Instead – we see The HEARTh as a community of practice and an ecosystem of spiritual care grounded in reflection, connection, compassion, and mutual growth.

This form helps us get to know you.  We invite you to respond thoughtfully and authentically.

Community Agreements & Participation Guidelines

The HEARTh is a community of spiritual care, reflection, learning, and belonging. These agreements are intended to help us create a trustworthy and supportive environment where all members can engage with authenticity, curiosity, and respect.

OUR SHARED INTENTION

We seek to cultivate a community grounded in compassion, presence, humility, wisdom, and mutual care. While we come from diverse backgrounds and traditions, we are united by a commitment to spiritual growth, collective learning, belonging, and the practice of deep listening.

CONFIDENTIALITY

We ask all members to honor the integrity of the shared space:

"What is shared here, stays here.

What is learned here, leaves here."

We invite you to bring your growth and personal inspiration out into the world. However, personal stories, reflections, and experiences shared by members are to be treated with care and confidentiality.

COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS

As members of The HEARTh, we agree to:

• Engage with kindness, respect, and non-judgment.

• Listen deeply and speak from personal experience.

• Honor differing perspectives and life experiences.

• Practice curiosity rather than certainty.

• Avoid offering advice unless it is explicitly requested.

• Respect personal boundaries and confidentiality.

• Contribute to a culture of inclusion, belonging, and mutual support.

• Take responsibility for our own participation and self-care.

MEDIA & PRIVACY

To protect the safety and integrity of the community:

• No recording, photographing, or sharing of Zoom sessions.

• No sharing of content from the private forum without permission.

• No distribution of teachings, recordings, or materials without consent.

We request that you ensure that family members and friends who are not members of the HEARTh Community not be able to overhear or observe live or recorded zoom sessions.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE

The HEARTh offers spiritual support, reflection, learning, and community. Participation in The HEARTh is not psychotherapy. It is a spiritual companioning model of care.

The HEARTh does not provide diagnosis, treatment of mental health conditions, or emergency support.

Members remain responsible for seeking appropriate professional support if and when needed.

PARTICIPATION

We recognize that each member participates in their own way and at their own pace. We encourage active engagement while honoring individual capacity, life circumstances, and personal boundaries.

CONFLICT AND REPAIR

Community is both a gift and a practice. At times, misunderstandings, differences, or tensions may arise. When they do, we encourage members to approach one another with curiosity, honesty, compassion, and respect.

By participating in The HEARTh, we acknowledge that being in community includes both the joy of connection and the responsibility of tending relationships with care.

A LIVING COMMUNITY

These agreements are intended to support the health and vitality of our shared community. As The HEARTh evolves, these agreements may be refined to reflect the emerging needs, experiences, and wisdom of the collective.

By participating in The HEARTh, members affirm their intention to uphold these agreements and contribute to a culture of trust, care, respect, and shared learning.

LEAVING/ Endings Matter

At The HEARTh, we recognize that endings are an important part of community life.

If you choose or need to cancel your membership, we ask that you honor the spirit of The HEARTh by completing two simple acts of closure:

1. Complete the Member Exit Form

This helps us learn from your experience, receive your feedback, and continue growing as a community.

2. Communicate

For a variety of reasons, community members may need/choose to leave before the end of the year.

How we handle leaving community is part of tending our community relationships with care. If it becomes necessary for you to leave the community, we request that you communicate your choice rather than quietly disappear. For example, you may choose to post a goodbye message on the forum, provide a message for us to post on your behalf, share your decision with your small group etc.

We believe that thoughtful beginnings and thoughtful endings are both expressions of respect and belonging.

These agreements are intended to guide us toward greater awareness, accountability, compassion, and connection.
